JonBennet Profiling
August 17, 2006 08:03 AM
For all you commenters who think NBS believes in profiling, we give you this:

Yes, we firmly believe that white, creepy nerd-men of a certain age are far more likely to abduct childhood beauty queens. This guy should have been stopped at the airport and questioned about child molestation everytime he boarded a plane. Talk about looking the part.

Indeed, I have heard that he faced some sort of sex-related charge in Tailand. Which of course begs the question: what the heck do you have to do to face sex-related charges in Tailand? Isn't it supposedly a hotbed (to use a tacky pun) of illicit sexual activity?
CNN International reported that he was staying in a 'communal barracks style guesthouse' in an area that is frequented by expatriate sex tourists. These are the types that travel to Thailand in the hopes of getting it on with children, and often do for the right amount of money. Sick.

I'm surprised at how quickly they got a confession from this guy. Almost makes me wonder if the Thai police weren't entrusted with the initial questioning. Perhaps they had some stuff on him in Thailand, too, and it was made very clear to him that he could either come clean and go with the Americans, or play games and take his chances with the Thai justice system.
