Where in the World is NBS, No. 3

November 22, 2006 11:20 PM

NBS is braving holiday travel, and heading off to Maine, for a nice romantic weekend with Mrs. NBS.  And her parents.  Should be a wild time.

That's the Portland Head Light, in Cape Elizabeth.  We'll actually be heading further north, to Camden, home of the prettiest harbor in New England.  We plan to eat some lobster, drink some a lot of wine, hit the L.L. Bean store in Freeport, and say hi to the Belted Galloways.

We'll be back with regular programming on Monday.  In the meantime, posting will be light.  Hope your Thanksgiving is filled with family, good food, and as few airport freaks as possible.  Gobble Gobble.

Have a very nice holiday! Canadian Thanksgiving was last month, but it really doesn't compare to the U.S. in terms of importance as a holiday. I expect blogging will be light all over the blogosphere, and I look forward to many tales of flamboyant feasts next week.

Didn't know you had a Maine connection, NBS. Every summer I spend time in Castine, across the way from Camden. Been boating around Isleboro and Eggemoggin Reach - Blue Hill, etc. It’s probably my favorite part of the planet …

I don't know if it qualifies as a "Maine connection," Brendan. I've only been there twice. Mrs. NBS has been going there for years. You're right, it is beautiful there. We took the ferry to Isleboro on Saturday. Never been to the other places you mention, but I'm sure they're well worth a trip. I'll have some photos up at some point, as soon as the real job gets out of the way.
