The New York Times Co. is Mad at Bloggers

...for eating away at their profits.  From The NYT Co.'s annual report:

The proliferation of nontraditional media, largely available at no cost, challenges the traditional media model, in which quality journalism has primarily been supported by print advertising revenues. If consumers fail to differentiate our content from other content providers, on the Internet or otherwise, we may experience a decline in revenues.

Awwwww.  How sad for them.  People are turning away from their product because they like "other content providers" better.  And by "other content providers," they mean blogs.

NYT and its "quality journalists" have been thoroughly embarrassed, duped, scooped, and caught fibbing so many times people have stopped counting.

I don't think we should even HAVE private media. Where are the controls? In most other countries, the government controls the media and everyone is safe. If we have to give up democracy and freedom to keep the religious nuts out of the United States, I'm for giving up democracy and freedom. Who needs journalism anyway? The news is scary. I don't WANT to know what's going on. Keep me in the DARK!
