McCain seeks a truce with conservatives
February 7, 2008 09:55 AM
Politico describes his two-pronged pitch:
Prong one: McCain is not really so bad, is quite conservative on spending and the Iraq war and is far better than the alternative come this fall. Prong two: The time has come to stop stewing and get on board.
Patronizing. And typically contemptuous. I'm not ready to make nice, and I sure hope others aren't either.

It was a little sad, but it was obviously bound to happen sooner or later. As for the flip-flopper stuff, he got a rousing reaction from hundreds of hard core conservatives today, none of whom seem to be putting much stock in the flip-flopper charge. These are the people that would know.

You must be very sad today, with Mitt's announcement. As for me, I am happy as hell. The phoney flip-flopper is finally gone!
